Aw a mushy "holiday" full of love, joy and laughter for the loving, and a miserable day for the "loveless". Isn't it grand?
In any case, for those interested, here is a little history, that I'm not retyping, however, will provide a link for ya, on the History of Valentine's Day. http://www.celebratelove.com/valhistory.htm
Anyways, to go on with my blog entry. Today started as any other Monday morning would start for us. Jayden peacefully sleeping, hubby peacefully sleeping, and thus mommy sneaks down stairs for her morning coffee, to start my morning routine. =) Aww, the peace, the mommy time. LOVE it. I was surprised to see that my Mother In Law had to stay home from work today because she is sick.
After I started my routine, and got Jayden's breakfast ready, I went upstairs. In his crib, my sweet man was jabbering away at his stuffed animals, as always. He was telling cookie monster good morning, and telling his daddy's old teddy bear about his dreams, and telling his seahorse thank you for helping him get to and stay asleep last night. When I walked in, he got excited and "called" for me. lol. I do believe he recognizes me as mommy now. I swear I hear faint little "mamas" and "daddas" or "babas" in his sweet excited voice. I'm NOT 100% sure if I'm hearing right, or if I'm hearing what I WANT to hear, but man, sometimes it does really sound as if he's forming words.
Anyways, I picked my sweet little man up, and laid him on our bed next to daddy. We said our good mornings, I love Yous, and of course HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Then proceeded to play with our wee man for a bit. I told hubby that his mom was home sick, and she always comes down with the bad colds. If she gets it, everyone is bound to get it. So we decided since we have much over do errands today, that we would go run our errands to try and minimize Jayden's contact. We don't need him getting sicker as he's getting better. That would just suck.
Jayden and I let daddy catch another hour of sleep as we went about our morning routine. We both had our oatmeals, mine with Strawberries, Jayden's with green beans. lol. I had my coffee and Jayden had his mama's milk. =)
On Jayden's high Chair was a red envelope! Valentines had not forgotten about him! So I gave it to him, let him inspect it, he of course tried to chew on it. We opened it, and read it, and Jayden LOVED his Valentines Card from his Grammy and Grandpa Petty!
Oh, mommy and daddy did not forget about our little munchkin. We got him a recordable book from Halmark. =) He has ENJOYED it. lol. He's trying to figure out how to move the pages to make it talk. He's kind of thrown off because he hears our voices but he doesn't see our lips moving. He thought it was funny. poor kiddio. All sorts of confused.
Just as we had finished cleaning up and was about to go upstairs and dress for the day, daddy was coming down stairs and laid an envelop on the table for mommy! I got half way through reading it, when Jayden wanted to continue his morning routine, which means dress for the day, then go out back on the porch and play in his car walker for an hour. So I was sad that I had to put my card down. So we went upstairs, got baby boy ready for the day, then came downstairs to play.
Mommy had to take a shower. Daddy and Jayden surprised mommy with a BEAUTIFUL Open ended heart diamond necklace key for Valentines day! It's by Jane Seymor. =) I LOVE it. It's got Black Diamonds in it. I've never had black diamonds before. My hubby did a VERY good job. He was a very good hubby this Valentines day! =)
The funny thing is I sent him an email with a "wish" list of things I would like for Valentines. On my wish list I had three open heart diamond necklaces I liked on it. I had a cross one, an angel one and a heart one. I didn't even see the key one, or one with black diamonds. My hubby picked up the idea, and off of what I had said SEVERAL weeks ago about black diamonds, he found the PERFECT gift! It was a TOTAL surprise! I am VERY happy with his selection! So good job my Lovers!
Anyways, hubby and I ran some errands, then we went and did a little shopping. We stopped by at home to check the mail and kill some time before our next errand. So we grabbed lunch, fed baby boy his lunch, and was surprised with our mail!
Our beautiful tax return check was here! yay! OMG yay! Now we have our state and our federal. We took them to the bank, and put them in the savings.
Then we ran about our errands. Came home in time for dinner, ate, fed baby boy, played with him. Wore him out. He hasn't even had a bath yet and he's still asleep!!! Been asleep sine 7!!!!! I think it's just a wash cloth wipe down when he wakes to eat here shortly.
We gave him infant Tylenol because his teeth had seemed to be bothering him today. Once we gave him his teeth gel and the Tylenol he was a happy baby again! Love happy babies.
I'm desperate to help my child eat, so I have been playing around and trying several different things. We have found he sleeps better in his diaper only and lightly covered with a receiving blanket, the paci in his mouth, on his tummy, with a rolled receiving blanket under his tummy, and the humidifier on.
Do I have an odd child or what? lol.
So WE think Jayden is about to venture out in this crawling business finally. He took a little crawl step tonight! yay! Exciting times! He definitely likes to be on the move, so once he figures out how to be on the move on his own, we think he will be a MUCH happier baby boy. lol. Just gotta watch him better.
He's learning to transition his toys from one hand to the other. And he's talking to us, to his toys, to just about anything around him. So I know talking to him, and reading to him is working!
He knows the word no. I know, some of you may say, he can't know it, and understand it. But he does. I say no, when he tries to touch his wee wee in the bath, he stops. I say no when he tries to stick his hands in his mouth when I'm trying to feed him, and he pulls them out. I say no when he pulls my hair and he lets go. I say no, when hes trying to reach for his food bowl and he stops. lol. My kid is smart. I'm glad he is a good listener, lets see how long that will last. lol.
Anyways, it's Valentines day, I'm gonna go snuggle up to the hubs and wait for my sweet lil boy to wake up for his 10pm feeding. If he wakes up, if now, I will nurse him in his sleep as always!
Good night, Happy Valentines day, and ttyl.
